SINGAPORE / LAGOS, 18 May 2026 — Embed Financial Group Holdings Pte. Ltd. (“EFGH”) will provide its ConnectSure embedded insurance technology platform for Intelligra Solutions Limited, integrating automated protection directly into smartphone financing journeys in Nigeria.
The program will embed device protection and credit life insurance into Intelligra’s existing Buy Now Pay Later (“BNPL”) smartphone financing process, allowing insurance coverage to be activated automatically when devices are financed and issued to customers.
Intelligra is a smartphone financing platform that works with mobile operators, alongside device manufacturers such as Samsung, Itel, Infinix and Tecno. The company currently operates in Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For many consumers across Africa, the smartphone has become more than a communication device. It is increasingly the gateway to banking, payments, work and digital services.
Under the program, EFGH’s ConnectSure platform will support API integration, automated premium calculation, digital policy issuance, claims workflow enablement and reporting within Intelligra’s financing journey.
The programme will initially launch in Nigeria, with expansion into additional African markets subject to regulatory approvals and further written agreements between the parties.
Insurance products underwritten by Leadway Assurance Company Limited and brokered by FGIL Insurance Brokers Ltd. will include:
- Device Protection Insurance covering screen damage and theft during the financing term
- Credit Life Insurance covering outstanding loan balances in the event of death or permanent disability of the borrower
The insurance activation process is designed to sit within Intelligra’s existing onboarding flow. Customers selecting qualifying BNPL plans will have coverage activated digitally as part of the financing process.
The platform is expected to support large-scale issuance volumes from launch and policy issuance cycle times of under 60 seconds from activation.
Dennis Ng, Founder and Executive Chairman of EFGH, said: “For many consumers across Africa, the smartphone is becoming the front door to the digital economy. Financing helped solve access. The next challenge is making protection simple, embedded and scalable.
“Customers should not need to navigate separate systems just to protect devices that are central to their daily lives. The direction of travel is clear. Financial services will increasingly sit quietly inside the digital journeys people already use.”
Femi Alabi of Intelligra Solutions Limited said: “Our focus has always been expanding smartphone access responsibly and at scale. Embedding protection directly into the financing journey helps create a stronger customer experience while supporting long-term ecosystem growth.”
EFGH’s role under the program is limited to providing the ConnectSure technology platform and workflow enablement infrastructure. All underwriting, claims decisions and regulatory obligations remain with Leadway Assurance Company Limited as insurer and FGIL Insurance Brokers Ltd. as broker and claims liaison.
The program is structured as a recurring three-year engagement subject to annual review.
